How Long Do Lavender Fields Last?
Once lavender starts blooming, you’ve got about 3–4 weeks to enjoy it. Sunshine helps prolong the season. Rain and strong winds? Not so much.
Visiting a pick-your-own field? Expect your cut lavender to last 1–2 weeks in a vase. Dry it afterwards to keep that lovely scent longer.

Best Lavender Fields & Gardens Near London
Mayfield Lavender Farm
You can’t talk lavender near London without mentioning Mayfield. This family-run, organic farm has 25 acres of glorious purple rows.
Wander freely, hop on the Looby Loo lavender train, and try the famous lavender gin. Their cafe serves scones and cream teas with a lavender twist.

If you visit Mayfield Lavender Farm, don’t skip their stunning Glasshouse cafe. It’s perfect for coffee or cocktails surrounded by the scent of lavender.
This year they also open the gates for the very first time to Mayfield’s Secret Lavender Garden at their Epsom site. It’s a space that feels like the heart of the English countryside, yet it’s just a stone’s throw away from Central London.

Hitchin Lavender (Hertfordshire)
Just under two hours from London, Hitchin Lavender is a dream for flower lovers. You can pick your own blooms, explore sunflower fields, and stroll through their wildflower meadows.
Don’t miss the Lavender Museum, it shares the area’s lavender-growing history. Perfect for families or anyone keen to slow down.

Vauxhall Park (London)
